Meat Pro Asia welcomes the ‘Food Innovation and Packaging Center’ (FIN) on board as supporting academic partner

9 Sep 2020

Meat Pro Asia’, a new trade show dedicated to the meat and food industry in the ASEAN region, will receive support from the Food Innovation and Packaging Center (FIN) as an Academic partner to promote the show.

The Food Innovation and Packaging Center (FIN) is an academic organisation under the supervision of Chiang Mai University. The Center provides a one-stop product development and packaging design service for clients and stakeholders in the food industry.

The Center is currently working on a new project named ‘Lanna Gastronomy’, as part of its focus on processing and packaging innovations for food commodities from Northern Thailand. The project will see FIN participate in a promotional roadshow alongside Meat Pro Asia, allowing participants of Meat Pro Asia to receive the special privilege of a field visit in Chiang Mai as well as the opportunity to expand their business in Northern Thailand.

Together, Meat Pro Asia and the Food Innovation and Packaging Center (FIN) aim to help food producers develop advanced packaging solutions, specifically for meat, through new innovations. To achieve this goal, FIN will host a series of seminars and webinars before and during Meat Pro Asia (10 – 12 March 2021), to inspire and educate industry professionals on the food packaging process. This is in line with FIN’s mission statement as a solution provider and innovation leader working to foster entrepreneurship and boost food production capacity among SMEs and OTOPs.

In addition to its promotional and educational activities, FIN will also participate at Meat Pro Asia at a dedicated booth. Associate Professor, Dr. Tuthana Phimolsiripol, Director Food Innovation and Packaging Center commented: “We will bring samples of products, packaging innovations, and some Lanna Gastronomy products to present at our booth. We are producing Lanna food in new ways through interesting techniques, for example, freeze-drying. Trade visitors will have the opportunity to learn and see many new things, especially innovations related to food products and packaging. We will also display reusable plastic that can applied in restaurants. With so much to offer, we look forward to welcoming industry members to our booth at Meat Pro Asia.”

Co-located with VIV Pro, Meat Pro Asia is organised by Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media Ltd and VNU Asia Pacific. The inaugural edition will be held from 10 – 12 March 2021 at IMPACT, Bangkok.
